Bare Bones Broth: As I’ve mentioned a bit in recent posts, after a few months of sloppiness following my wedding and honeymoon, I’ve decided to re-dedicate myself to hormonal and gut health. For me, like many women, these two things go hand in hand. I’ve always known that bone broth is extremely powerful for gut healing, but I could never really commit to having it regularly. I did discover a method of cooking my own broth that makes the process a whole lot easier (more on that to come), but I’ve also been leaning on Bare Bones Broth. Food Freedom Forever: It’s hard for me to summarize what I loved about this book because there was literally nothing I didn’t love about it. Food Freedom Forever, by Melissa Hartwig (the co-founder of Whole30) is all about how to cultivate life-long, sustainable habits when it comes to healthy eating. We all know diets don’t work. Food Freedom Forever is all about what does work.

FUN NEW DISCOVERIES
Paleo Pep Talk Cards: Chelsea, the founder of Paleo Pep Talk reached out to me a few months ago asking whether or not I’d be willing to receive some of her encouragement cards for people starting out on a paleo diet. Smarty Pants Prenatal Multi-Vitamin: After joining the Healthy Hormones Group (more on this below) and speaking to Alex of Dig Primal about what supplements I might be missing from my regimen, she suggested taking a multi-vitamin. My initial reaction was disappointment, because the thought of adding one more supplement to day seemed really unappealing. But then I remembered hearing about the Prenatal Smarty Pants Multi-Vitamin which appealed to me for a few reasons. First of all, it’s a gummy… so how hard could that be to add. Plus, because it was the prenatal version it contained folate, which is extremely beneficial for hormonal health. Many multi-vitamins contain folic acid, which is the synthetic form of folate, but not the prenatal. And, I have to say, I now look forward to taking my multi-vitamin every day!
Aculief: So, I can’t actually say this is a new discovery, but it’s consistently one of my favorite little gadgets and I haven’t talked nearly enough about it on my blog. Aculief is wearable acupressure and is designed to relieve tension and headaches. Although I don’t get headaches often, when I do, I never want to take conventional over the counter medication. Instead, I pop on my Aculief and it always works like a charm. Not only that, but I’ve found it to be a very good preventative measure when I’m afraid of getting a hangover. Although I have pretty much eliminated alcohol for the past year or so do to hormonal reasons, this certainly came in handy when I use to drink more frequently. Simply wear your aculief to bed after a night of drinking and you may be surprised to wake up completely headache-free!

Desert Essence Blemish Stick: Tea Tree Oil has always been one of my favorite products for spot treating, but it can be a little too harsh and drying, especially in the winter months. I’ve really been loving the Desert Essence Blemish Stick because it’s not as harsh, but equally as powerful as a spot treatment.

The Healthy Hormones Program: I’ve mentioned this program a few times in passing and plan on dedicating a whole post to it soon, but I am so in love with this program and it’s only been a month. It’s been over a year since I had any tests done and although I’ve made immense progress when it comes to my acne and hormonal health, I knew it was time to re-test and refocus.
