2016 Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

December 8, 2016 By Anya Kaats 16 Comments

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

It’s that time of year again and I couldn’t be more excited to bring you my Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway of 2016! Last year’s post was such a success that I’ve been looking forward to doing it again ever since.

There are so many things that I could include in this list, but I tried to narrow it down to my all time favorites of 2016. I also made sure to only include food products that aren’t perishable so you can gift and ship them all with ease.

Just interested in the giveaway? I don’t blame you. Scroll down to the end of the post!

Skincare

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

1. Beautycounter Eye Shadow Palettes – These eyeshadow palettes by Beautycounter (my favorite non-toxic makeup and skincare brand) were one of my favorite new releases of theirs this year. Eyeshadow had been one of the last conventional makeup products I owned, so I was happy to ditch it for Beautycounter’s version. I am personally obsessed with the Winter Warmth palette but both are amazing and perform just like the conventional stuff!
2. Beautycounter Naughty to Nice Gift Set –  Another gift-ready collection from Beautycounter, the Naughty to Nice set which includes their Charcoal Cleansing Bar and Purifying Charcoal Mask would make a perfect gift for any female OR male on your list!
3. Beautycounter Lip Sheer –  The average woman consumes 7 pounds of lipstick in a decade. Other than that sounding like a gross statistic, unfortunately most conventional lip sticks are full of harmful chemicals and carcinogens that skincare companies are not required to disclose. Pretty shocking, right? It’s for this reason that I love Beautycounter’s Lip Sheers. Not only do they go on like chapstick and stay put, but they are completely non-toxic so you don’t have to worry about how much you accidentally ingest. Here is some more information about the dangers of conventional makeup products.
4. Beautycounter Love & Luster Lip Gloss Collection – No one can ever have too much lip gloss, am I right? Not only do I love all of these holiday-inspired shades, but this set comes wrapped in the most adorable red box, perfect for gifting!
5.  Beautycounter Lip Conditioner in Peppermint – It takes a lot for me to get excited about a lip balm, but I just love this stuff. It has the most delicious smelling Peppermint scent which is perfect for the holidays. I will definitely be throwing this into a ton of stockings this holiday season!

Books

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

1. Paleo Kids Cookbook – In case you missed my post about this amazing cookbook, check it out here. With dairy and gluten-free recipes for the whole family (not just kids!) this book would make an amazing gift for any parent, family or kid at heart.
2. The New Yiddish Kitchen – Can anyone say paleo bagels? How about paleo bagels that actually taste like bagels?! This cookbook was by far one of my favorite releases this year. This is a staple for any Jewish household, but your non-Jewish friends and family will love it just the same! Check out my full review here.
3. Paleo Soups & Stews – Nothing says winter like soup, amiright? Check out my full review of Paleo Soups & Stews here. Not only will you find countless pages of paleo-friendly versions of all your favorite soups, but you’ll also find all the fixings like grain and gluten-free baguettes, crackers and so much more!
4. The New Primal Blueprint – Almost 7 years ago, the original edition of this book changed my life. If it hadn’t been for discovering The Primal Blueprint I would have never started a paleo diet. Had I never started a paleo diet, I would have never gotten the job I got at Whole Foods all those years ago which eventually lead me to the career I have today. Mark Sisson has re-released this paleo bible and it is simply incredible. If any of your friends or family are interested in trying a paleo diet, this book is a must.

Food

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

1. Nutpods – For anyone that followed me during my Whole30 this summer, you know that I became juuuust a little obsessed with nutpods. I’ve tried nearly all the dairy-free creamers out there and nutpods take the cake 100%. These tasty creamers would make a perfect gift for anyone that’s looking to give up dairy or any skeptic that think their half and half can’t be replaced!
2. Primal Palate Spices – There are few things on this list that I think would make a better gift than Primal Palate Spices. It’s hard to know what you’re missing out on when it comes to high quality spices until you’ve tried Primal Palate’s. It’s amazingly clear just by looking and smelling these spices how superior they really are. Not only that, but they are gluten free, organic, non-gmo, non-irradiated, Whole30 approved and so much more.
3. RX Bars – To be honest, I am not much of a bar person. But these (and Primal Kitchen’s listed below) are really the only bars I enjoy eating. There isn’t a flavor I don’t love. Stick a few of these Whole30-approved bars in stockings and no one will be disappointed!
4. Amazing Grass – I am all about trying to get the max amount of nutrients possible in any given meal. That’s why I love adding Amazing Grass to all of my smoothies and even other recipes like soups and baked goods! There are so many different varieties of these superfood greens, but my favorite is their Detox & Digest which also contains gut-healthy probiotics! Wrap one of their 30oz containers or use their stick packs as stocking stuffers!
5. Fourth & Heart Ghee – Giving up dairy certainly wasn’t easy, but having something like Fourth & Heart ghee has made giving up butter pretty darn easy. In fact, I might even like it better than butter! Ghee has an extremely similar smell and texture to butter, plus Fourth & Heart makes different flavors for a ton of different recipe varieties. I love putting their Himalayan Pink Salt on paleo toast and their Madagascar Vanilla Bean in my morning coffee or tea!
6. Primal Kitchen Collagen Bars & Ranch – It’s been a pretty amazing year for Primal Kitchen. They’ve launched countless paleo-friendly products that I love that are now available nationwide. I am especially obsessed with their collagen bars and brand new paleo-friendly ranch!
7. Dandy Blend – After recognizing that coffee (even decaf) was no good for my hormones nor my digestion, I decided to give it up cold turkey. Thankfully, there’s Dandy Blend. A dandelion-based “tea” that’s actually powder you dissolve in water. I mix this with some ghee, collagen and nutpods and blend it all in my Vitamix. It’s the perfect coffee and butter-free bulletproof coffee!
8. Four Sigmatic Mushroom Elixirs – I was introduced to Four Stigmatic’s mushroom elixirs just a few months ago and they have officially become a part of my weekly routine. When I’m not making a cup of Dandy Blend, I use their Reishi Hot Cacao or Chaga blend (which I use to make a chai latte). Both are great for hormonal health among a whole host of other things and I love starting my day with something so nutrient-dense.
9. Eating Evolved – One of the few products to make it onto my holiday gift guide list two years in a row, but that’s how much I love Eating Evolved. I’ve been following this company practically from when they first started and they have yet to release a product I am not completely blown away by. Their coconut butter cups make the absolute perfect stocking stuffer and such a healthier option than traditional candy.
10. Suja Juice Gift Card – Did you know Suja has gift cards?! Well, now you do. Sure, gifting perishable organic, cold-pressed juice isn’t the easiest, but now you can gift Suja in the form of a gift card. So easy!
11. Epic Cooking Fats – Epic Provisions has countless products that I love, but I think their cooking fats make an especially great gift. Why? Because healthy cooking fats are often hard to come by and many times people won’t buy them before they’ve tried them for the first time. My favorites are their Bison Tallow and Duck Fat!
12. Sun Basket – My husband and I are so obsessed with Sun Basket that we’ve decided to give these meals as a gift to all of our family members. (Let’s just hope they aren’t reading this post!) Sun Basket is by far the best meal-delivery service I’ve ever tried. All of their food is certified organic and they have a ton of gluten-free, dairy-free an paleo options. Not only that, but they even make a bunch of Whole30 options which is amazing when you want to save some time. For just $34, you can get 6 meals by using this link and hitting “redeem offer”.
13. Legit Bread – I could go on and on about how much I love Legit Bread, but it’s easier to just link to this post. Great tasting paleo bread is nearly impossible to come by but my friend Jennifer has officially made it happen. In addition to pre-made loaves of bread, Legit Bread also makes baking mix so you can give them as gifts!
14. 4505 Chicharrones  – This is another recent discovery of mine that I just can’t get enough of. If you think pork rinds aren’t your thing, you need to try 4505 Chicharrones. Not only do these make a delicious carb-free crunchy snack, but they’re also cooked in rendered pork fat to eliminate waste and avoid junky oils.
15. Vital Proteins – There is little from Vital Proteins that I don’t love, but I was especially thrilled when they released their travel-friendly stick packs. I was always traveling around with a huge jar of collagen, but now their stick packs make it so easy to have collagen on the go! These would make yet another fantastic stocking stuffer.

Kitchen Tools

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

1. Cast Iron Skillet – I was definitely one of those people that was intimidated by cast iron pans because I thought they’d be difficult to take care of. After having one for a full year, I am honestly not sure how I lived without it. I cook 85% of all of my recipes in this pan and it honestly never leaves my stove top. I make seasoning it easy too by simply washing and drying it after each use then rubbing a bit of Primal Kitchen’s avocado oil onto the pan. Not only is this pan super useful but it’s under $20!! How’s that for a bargain?!
2. Instant Pot – Another one of the few items that made it on my list two years in a row. This baby is a slow cooker AND pressure cooker in one, plus so much less expensive than buying one of each. I make countless dishes in my Instant Pot and don’t know what I’d do without it!
3. Vitamix – Okay so yet another repeat, but how could I not include a Vitamix on this list? This year Vitamix gifted me a copper blender and it’s by far the most gorgeous part of my kitchen. Sure, these machines cost a pretty penny but they will last you a lifetime. I use my Vitamix every single day.

Other

Ultimate Paleo Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway

1. Aculief – If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t love taking over the counter medication when you have a headache. Thankfully, Aculief provides a pretty perfect solution. This little device fits right onto your hand and targets your pressure point eliminating headache symptoms. If you’re someone that likes to go out drinking, I would also recommend sleeping with this on to avoid a headache and nasty hangover in the morning!
2. Siete Sweatshirt – Siete Tortillas are by far the best paleo tortillas on the market, but since they’re perishable they can be a little hard to gift. Thankfully, they also sell some pretty adorable swag that makes the perfect gift. Not only that, but the proceeds all go to different organizations every month so you can feel even better about your purchase!
3. Essential Oil Diffuser – This was actually one of the items on my own personal list last year and I don’t know what I did without it. I love diffusing oils like clary sage and geranium. Each oil has a different purpose and I find the scent to be extremely relaxing and stress-reducing.
4. Salt Lamp – Yet another item from my personal list last year! Even if you don’t believe that salt lamps help with detoxification, air purity and so much more, it’s pretty hard to deny that these lamps are super gorgeous and relaxing to look at. I do believe that mine has made a different in the quality of the air in my house, but it also makes such a perfect piece of decor for my living room!

I really wish I were more consistent with clean eating. I’m starting another Whole 30 on January 1st, so hopefully I’ll continue to practice mindful habits. Also, I just found Sunbasket through their partnership with Williams Sonoma, and I love them!
